The Sri Sathya Sai Rath Yatra Mahotsav 2026 marks the blessed arrival of the sacred Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravahini Rath in Nepal, bringing one of the world’s most revered spiritual figures closer to devotees across the country. Spanning 40 days, this sacred pilgrimage will travel through Nepal, giving people the opportunity to receive the blessings from Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The Yatra will officially commence on 7 September 2026, when the sacred Rath is ceremoniously received at Sunauli. Later that day, a grand Procession and Nagar Parikrama will take place in Bhairahawa, marking the beginning of a spiritually uplifting journey. After travelling across Nepal, the Rath will conclude its pilgrimage on 16 October 2026, returning to Sunauli before continuing its journey to India.
During these forty days, the Rath will travel through Nepal’s western plains, mid-hills, the Kathmandu Valley, eastern region, and southern Terai, ensuring devotees from every part of the country can participate in this rare and sacred occasion. The Rath will visit places like Lumbini, Taulihawa, Lamahi, Kohalpur, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Dadeldhura, Ghorahi, and Pyuthan . Devotees will welcome the Rath with Nagar Parikrama, Sai Mahima programmes, devotional bhajans, and community prayers, creating an atmosphere filled with faith and joy. The journey will then continue through Butwal, Palpa, Gulmi, Waling, Pokhara, Baglung, Damouli, Sundarbazar, Gorkha, Dhading, and Trishuli, carrying Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s timeless message of love, unity, and selfless service. Local Sai devotees and volunteers will organise devotional gatherings, cultural programmes, and seva activities at every stop. As the Rath reaches the Kathmandu Valley, he will travel through Tokha, Kathmandu, Banepa, Bhaktapur, Patan, Pulchowk, Jawalakhel, and surrounding areas. The capital will host one of the Major Sai Mahima Events, where thousands of devotees are expected to participate in grand processions, bhajans, spiritual discourses, and cultural performances dedicated to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. From the central region, the sacred journey will move eastward through Narayaghat, Hetauda, Sindhuli, Gaighat, Dharan, Itahari, Damak, Birtamod, Dhulabari, Ilam, Charaali, Biratnagar, Rajbiraj, Janakpur, Birgunj, Bharatpur, and Parasi. Every destination will welcome the Rath with devotional songs, floral offerings, Nagar Parikrama, and heartfelt prayers.
These events will provide devotees of all ages with an opportunity to experience the joy of satsang and strengthen their spiritual connection. Beyond his physical journey, the Sri Sathya Sai Rath Yatra carries profound spiritual significance. The Rath symbolises the divine presence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, reminding devotees that God is present wherever there is sincere faith, love, and devotion. As he travels across Nepal, he also spreads Baba’s universal messages:
